Let's Celebrate Earth Day!

"Mother Earth can live without us, but can we live without her?"
~ Native American Elder

“The Universe is asking you to confirm with yourself whether you would like to serve the Earth, to save the Earth, be the sage of the Earth. Earth—the Sustainer, the mother of you, which nurtures you—can you serve it back?
That which serves you, can you serve it back?”
~ Yoji Bhajan

Happy Earth Day!!!

Today is an opportunity for us to give back to SHE who never stops giving, to she who never takes a break.

She = our nourishment.
She sustains us.

She is the solid firm ground for which we stand upon.
She feeds us with her plants, herbs, flowers, & essences (sometimes animals) that fuel our Temple bodies.
She quenches our thirst with the water for which we can not survive without for more than 8 days.
She supplies the materials to build shelters that protects us and keep us safe from the outside environments.
She creates the air in which we breath.
She creates all the eco systems for which we are not able to live without.
She gives us fire to keep us warm.

She is our life force.

Throughout millennia, yogis developed practices by observing and honoring all that is contained in the natural world; especially plants, animals, and the elements.

The South American indigenous people call her "Pachamama"
The Maori call her "Papatuanuku"
The Native American call her "Mother"

...and we've forgotten that we co-exist with her.

"Mother Earth can live without us, but can we live without her?"

To achieve sustainability, we must be among the leaders of authentic, conscious living, in both large and small acts.
Yogi Bhajan used to say, “If you let the water run while you brush your teeth, you’re letting the world go down the drain.” Individual consciousness leads to group consciousness, which then leads to universal consciousness. It all makes a difference.

It is vital as human beings, to embrace our paths as stewards of Mother Gaia, to honor her deeply, not only when we are meditating or doing yoga, but also when we are "off the mat" doing our everyday life.
We need to remember to connect with the natural world on a regular basis, and inspire others to do the same.

Join me tomorrow morning at 8:30am PDT on FACEBOOK LIVE where I'll be sharing a short mediation on calling in the spirit of Mother Earth and Aligning with her radiant vibes.

Hope to see you there.
In love and so much gratitude for all that SHE gives,
Catherine
